Midas Proud to Support 'F1 in Schools' Project

Midas are very proud and excited to announce that we are supporting our local school, Kimbolton in their bid to take part with two teams in the national competition 'F1 in Schools'. This is a prestigious competition where schools gather to race their model F1 cars and present business plans, designs and the making of their car. Although a well established and respected competition, this is the first time Kimbolton School have entered and are doing so with their Lower Sixth DTE students.

With a heritage in craft pattern-making and skilled engineering, at Midas we passionately believe in all things engineering and want to ensure that the younger generation are inspired to get involved in STEM subjects and get to experience these amazing opportunities so that hopefully they progress forward in to STEM related careers. It also seems fitting that 2018 is The Year of Engineering, an initiative launched by the government aimed to encourage access and insight into the world of Engineering.  You can read more on the subject here.

F1 in Schools is a global challenge spanning age ranges of 9 to 19 whose main objective is to help change the perceptions of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths by creating a fun and exciting learning environment for young people to develop informed views about careers in engineering, Formula One, science, marketing and technology.

Our sponsored team ULIA are preparing their entries for the regional finals which are to be held at Sprowston Community High in Norwich, on Thursday 8th February.  You can keep upto date with all the news on social media #F1inSchools #teamuila @KimSchDT

Team members are: Lewis Giddings, Katie Lawrence, Lewis Meakin, JJ Simpson, Tom Crimp and Zak Hall.
