Midas have been developing a technique for prototyping large, heavy section 'rubber' type mouldings due to customer requirements and opportunities and over the years we have developed and evolved the process into working system which we call FLEXrim™
a tooling system which allows the opportunity to produce prototype large rubber parts quickly and cost-effectively
FLEXrim™ enables parts to be made in flexible polyurethane elastomer up to 30kg in weight with sizes in excess of 2metres x 1metre. Wall thicknesses from 6mm up to 25mm are acceptable. Localised changes in wall section and undercuts are also possible.
The material exhibits a hardness of 79(shore A) and is readily painted with flexible polyurethane paint to replicate in-mould textures.
