Compliance and Governance at Midas

Compliance and Governance at Midas

Having been certified to ISO 9001 since 2004, seeking formal accreditation and understanding our client’s regulatory needs has always been important to us.  We took the decision to ONLY use UL94 V0 rated material and established a robust system to provide traceability info for the polyurethane material we supply because we knew how important flammability rating was to the science, medical and technical sectors, especially when shipping worldwide.

You can read more about UL testing, the various ratings, and what UL94 V0 means to you here.

Over the last 17 years, our QMS and regulatory systems have continually evolved.  A continuing rise in expectation for higher levels of compliance and governance from our clients, combined with our own process evolution and changing legal requirements means it will always be a moving target.

As a progressive company, we understand the value of keeping up to date and it is important we can provide evidence that all processes and components being procured meet the criteria set.

Understanding Areas of Risk

Although the regulatory landscape is forever evolving, our current focus and expertise lie in the following areas:

  • REACH / ROHS
  • Conflict Minerals
  • California Prop 65
  • ISO 13485 Medical Device Safety
  • Counterfeiting
  • Obsolescence

We address these requirements in the following areas and provide evidence where required.

  • Goods in checks
  • Procurement checks and traceability
  • Process and assembly procedures review
  • ISO 9001 management systems (e.g. Corrective Action Reports)

The Importance of Accreditation

Being accredited is essentially a big rubber stamp for your business, providing reassurance and credibility to your clients.  At Midas, we are ISO 9001:2015 certified by NQA, Carbon Neutral in accordance with PAS 2060, certified by The Carbon Trust, and in a matter of months, we should also be ISO 14,001:2015 accredited.

NQA has put together a great overview of the value of accreditation which is definitely worth a read.

When working with the right supplier, compliance should not be challenging, it should just be a reassuring tick in the box
