2018 was a great year for Midas, and we were lucky to have been involved in some very exciting and diverse projects whilst also continuing to produce mouldings for all our long standing clients.
FAST and Engineering Material Shows
In May and September 2018, we attended the FAST and Engineering Material exhibitions at the Motorcycle Museum and IWM Duxford. Both locations are highly engineering-focused and provided the perfect backdrop for these two exciting exhibitions – an excellent day out for our visiting engineers and designers as they also had the opportunity to tour the museums free of charge once they had visited the exhibition floor.

Supporting Medtec and Medilink East Midlands
We continue to support the Medtech sector and for the 3rd year running attended Medilink’s Innovation Day as well as taking a stand for the first time at the newly established National Life Science Expo held at the Milton Keynes Arena in November.
Our innovative tooling and moulding techniques offer a low risk and low volume solution to companies that are developing new devices and are looking for a solution that will help them get to market quickly but with stylish custom enclosures. It was great to see how the industry is evolving and finding ways to adapt to new challenges and we are looking forward to returning in 2019!
Dates for the 2019 Innovation Day can be found here whilst the National Life Science Expo is one not to be missed. There is plenty of time to get that date in the diary and scheduled before the next Christmas rush as it is not until the 26th November!!
Strong Year for Repeat Mouldings
Our tooling methods allow us to produce around 2000 parts per annum and 2018 saw us running our overtime systems full-time all year. We are proud to build long-lasting relationships with all our clients and are looking forward to continuing our work with them in 2019.

Huge Variety of Innovative Moulding Projects
We continued to produce a broad range of parts throughout 2018 - from EV chargers , medical devices and robotics, through to haptic and beauty therapy devices . We are constantly challenging our capabilities and were delighted to have partnered on such an array of projects.
New Contracts Lined up for Q1
The New Year has already started with a bang and we have lots of new and exciting projects lined up for Q1. We will be investing heavily in our facilities and CNC machinery throughout the year. We’ve already upgraded many of our systems and have introduced a new, larger moulding machine to bolster production capacity as well as aiding the production of extra-large RIM moulding, an area we are pleased to specialise in.
2019 awaits us all and at Midas we are eagerly looking forward to what it will bring. We know it will be a tough year politically for manufacturing but as always, you can be assured that you will receive the absolute best from Midas.
