Midas' Mouldings Take Flight

  • 5-part screen casings for the aerospace industry
  • Sturdy design for heavily used products
  • Manufactured with flame-retardant materials

Technology develops extremely fast and, at Midas, we ensure our engineers are keeping up with the newest innovations.

We were approached by an aerospace company who needed to produce a batch of in-flight screen casings for their current aircraft. On-board entertainment is becoming increasingly popular and passengers’ demands need to be fulfilled in order for aerospace companies to build a loyal customer-base.

Our client planned to position the screen casings along the ceiling of the central aisle, meaning that the results needed to be robust and able to withstand heavy usage.

At Midas, we accepted the challenge and came up with a sturdy design suitable for our client’s demands. Using materials appropriate for the aerospace industry, including UL94 V0 flame retardant polyurethane and aircraft approved water-based paint, we were able to provide the relevant documentation and the meet strict quality standards set by the aviation authorities.

The 5-part casings were manufactured entirely in-house utilising the best of our expertise and equipment for a fully functional product that the client could rely on.

At Midas, we have the ability to work within a range of demanding industries, and strive to exceed the expectations of our clients every day. Over the last 28 years we have developed our experiences and production methods to ensure we can take on a variety of reaction injection moulding projects.
